In service
of Her

I am in service of Her, the Great Mother Goddess, in Her many aspects and faces. I am in service of Her when I plant the seeds, harvest and preserve the food. When I walk the miles along rivers and forest trails, feeding Her battery with songs and prayers. I honor Her at the new moon with my silence, at the holy days with community celebrations.

You can tell a lot about my cosmology by the many teachers who have guided and influenced me. Starhawk - whose book The Spiral Dance I randomly found in an airport in 1991, and who taught me about permaculture in the Earth Activist Training. Leon and Haragano for Outer Groves, a year and a day deep dive into all things pagan. Susun Weed, as a live in herbal apprentice for 6 months. Raincrowe and the Village Mystery School, whose teachings over that long first year of the pandemic greatly influenced my magic. My coven of 18 years, Cedar Groves. AVI and Bill Plotkin, who helped me find my mytho-poetic identity and soul’s purpose. Refuge Recovery here on Bainbridge Island for helping me meditate my way to sobriety in loving sangha. And deep gratitude to Josh Schrei, both for the Emerald podcast, and his beautifully curated year long Mythic Body class. ​

I live in a small intentional community with my beloved partner and am honored to be a temple tender on this healing ground we call Sacred Groves. I have a wonderful 21 year old son and bonus daughter, many friends, and good health and strength.  At 60 years old, I am trying to become the Elder I Long To Be, in service to all. Trying to remember to live in gratitude.
